Equine Craniosacral

This is a story from 2018, not a service listing. In the UK, physical therapies for animals need the consent of the animal's vet before treatment (Veterinary Surgeons Act 1966 and the Veterinary Surgery (Exemptions) Order 2015).
To confirm with Nicki: Is equine craniosacral an active service? If so, it needs its own page with the vet-consent process.
Although I have no previous experience with horses I was given the opportunity by a friend to give her horse a Craniosacral Therapy session. It was the most amazing experience!
As soon as I walked into the stable I got a feeling of the spirit and power horses have. It actually took me a minute to pluck up the courage to stand beside him. Karen, his owner, gave Sara and I a whole bunch of do's and don'ts to follow and just as well. Information like when he moves towards you take a step back so he doesn't stand on your toes. And great advice considering the size of him, although Olly compared to the rest of the horses in the stable was small in comparison. Putting my craniosacral head on, with a little apprehension on the side, stepped in to greet him. The feeling that came to me first was how potent and vibrant he is. His unmistakable beauty radiates strength, energy and love.
I was beginning to relax, clearly too much, when Olly lifted his head to chew and without intent brought his chin down on my head. Me feeling a bit dazed and confused stepped out his way to orient and repair my ego! Just a gentle reminder of how much respect these animals demand and deserve. For a fleeting moment fear passed through me but the deep knowing inner self let this pass. I knew he would love and respond to Sara and I. When I first put my hands on him it was the soft tissues that I noticed, the athletic and energetic muscular system. Once we settled into a deeper level Olly began to release by leaning in towards us and shifting his posture. This deeper connection with him was an incredible experience. I could sense his nervous system settling then integrating.
Held back for Nicki to decide: "Bring an animal's body back into balance" is a claim about treating animals.
Craniosacral Therapy is such a gentle and subtle way to bring an animals body back into balance.
I really hope I have another opportunity to be in this space with such a beautiful animal.
