About Nicki

Still using what I learnt, but from a different place

Nicki's bodywork journey has taken her from Aberdeen to Dubai, and now to Renfrewshire and Inverclyde. Since 2020 her emphasis is “to listen and be guided by the word and presence of God”.

To confirm with Nicki: Surname: use it or not? (The old site's image names and X account suggest it.)

In 1998 I graduated with a BA in Business Management & Leisure Studies and started a career in event management. After nine years working in the Events industry, I decided to radically change my professional goals and decided to study fitness and wellbeing.

In 2007 whilst working for a private fitness and nutrition company I found a great deal of personal satisfaction in helping clients reach their personal fitness targets. Being inspired to further my education I decided to study complementary therapies, in particular Remedial and Sports Massage.

Held back for Nicki to decide: Personal health outcome (chronic pain relieved by massage and reflexology) reads as a treatment claim.

This interest stemmed from the relief experienced from many years of chronic pain, resulting from an old injury. Remedial Massage coupled with Reflexology saw a dramatic improvement of her health and quality of life, and my attraction to holistic therapies turned into a strong desire to help others in the same way.

At this time, my first job in bodywork was working for an Osteopathy clinic in Aberdeen. By 2011 I had moved overseas to Dubai and continued my career working with a variety of different clients.

Held back for Nicki to decide: Conditions treated, infertility and pregnancy outcomes, and "outstanding" benefits before birth are medical claims.

Subsequently, I began to treat a range of conditions from general aches and pains, to sports injuries and prevention. Regular clients included mainly sessions with athletes. Following this, I started to work with infertility and pregnancy through Reflexology, which became a focal point following several positive outcomes. For the most part, the benefits of this therapy before birth to mother and baby are outstanding.

After that, whilst living in the UAE the Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy course came across my path. And without a doubt, I found myself more drawn to it than anything before. In June 2016 I completed the two year course.

Held back for Nicki to decide: "Heal itself", and the story of her daughter's colic and sleep resolving after a session, are health claims (colic is specifically named by the ASA).

The biodynamic approach follows the body's natural wisdom to heal itself. Previously, my interest stemmed when it was suggested to me that I take my 6 week old daughter for a session. At that time, she didn't know night from day and was struggling to form any sort of pattern. There were colic issues besides sleep. Not only did the connection between the two of us grow after one session but also within two weeks she had settled into a beautiful sleeping pattern and the colic issues were gone.

Furthermore, the natural progression for me from Craniosacral, not only in a work capacity but also the personal development aspect was Peter Levine's Somatic Experiencing. Studying his book grew my interest in the world of trauma healing. How our bodies adapt to what our external environment shows us from as early as the womb. I qualified in this modality in 2020 and from here I added Breathwork and Non-Linear Movement Method®. Since then, I have been assisting on the Edinburgh trainings.

Held back for Nicki to decide: Pandemic and InPower (commercial and biblical law) paragraph: Nicki to decide whether it stays here, moves to a journal post, or is left out. Not edited.

Since 2020 the covid pandemic opened my eyes to the way the world really works. The deceit and lies coming from the top of the pyramid are deeper than we imagine. I found myself drawn to a community called InPower that has found a way to work in commerce that holds the people who cause us harm accountable using commercial and biblical law. It was the biblical side of the process that really sparked my interest! And I found myself studying more and more of the bible. This has led me to realise the only way to really heal permanently I must follow Jesus Christ. But not from a religious perspective! We must not confuse God and religion, they are not the same thing!!! Through faith and deliverance I found peace, love, real joy and strength.

I still use all the modalities I have trained in but have changed the way I work. I used to believe that all the bodywork I offered was a way to solve our past trauma. Now I realise that, although, they definitely help to regulate our nervous system, release the overwhelm and generally calm us, to truly heal we need to find a spiritual life through the faith and love of Jesus.

If God be for us, who can be against us?

Romans 8:31

For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

With love, Nicki
